LIFE-WISE – INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS PROGRAMME

As well as the therapeutic support we offer, we feel it is important that the young people at Enthum House learn the life skills needed to transition towards a more independent life.

Our Life-wise Programme, accredited by the Assessment and Qualification Alliance (AQA) unit award scheme ensures that by the time a young person leaves Enthum House they can:

  • Plan, budget and shop for a weeks’ worth of food
  • Cook at least 7 healthy meals
  • Maintain an acceptable level of household cleanliness
  • Use a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron
  • Open a bank account
  • Understand deposits, rent, bills and budgeting for independent living
  • Understand what is required to maintain a tenancy
  • Maintain an updated CV
  • Keep themselves safe when out and about
  • Enjoy happy and healthy relationships
